Infoks veel, et service recallid teeb ära Viking Motors, kui ametlik esindaja.
Ei tea, kuidas see käib, kas tehakse tasuta nagu mujal maailmas aga juppide eest küll raha ei küsita.

Dear General Motors Customer:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Federal regulation requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days.

Reason For This Recall
General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in all 1995-1997 Cadillac DeVille Concours, Seville, Eldorado, 1996-97 Cadillac DeVille; and 1995-1997 Oldsmobile Aurora model vehicles. These vehicles have a condition in which the original equipment nylon tubing used in the fuel rail construction may degrade and crack. Additionally, the 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora uses a unique underhood fuel return line that may crack at unusually high rates. Cracking of the fuel rail can result in a fuel leak into the engine compartment. The operator may experience fuel odor and possibly engine stalling due to loss of fuel pressure to the engine. If this event were to occur, and if an ignition source were present, an engine compartment fire could occur.

What Will Be Done
Your dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the engine fuel rail with a new stainless steel fuel rail. Oldsmobile dealers will also replace the chassis fuel lines on 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora model vehicles. This service will be performed for you at no charge .

How Long Will The Repair Take?
This service correction will take approximately one hour, and the service correction for the 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora will take an additional 50 minutes. However, due to service scheduling requirements, your dealer may need your vehicle for a longer period of time.

Contacting Your Dealer
To limit any possible inconvenience, we recommend that you contact your Oldsmobile dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for this repair. By scheduling an appointment, your dealer can ensure that the necessary parts will be available on your scheduled appointment date.

Kuna enda Devillil just hetkel mingi kala kütuse survega või sissepritsesüsteemiga, käisin täna Vikingis uurimas. Väideti, et kui auto Euroopast ostetud, tehakse asi tasuta ära, kuna minu Caddy mikimaalt, siis öeldi, et kindlalt tuleks ära vahetada ja maksma läheks ~4300.- Väga veider, mis vahet sel on kust auto ostetud?!

Kas kellelgi on veel Northstariga taolist probleemi esinenud, et kütusepump töötab, filter vahetatud mingi kuu tagasi jne. Kütus tuleb üles ka, säde on, aga käima ei lähe. Vahest võtab nagu mõned silindrid järgi käivitamise ajal, aga käima ei lähe. Ise kahtlustan seda kütuse surve regulaatorit, sisselaskekollektori praost vms ei tahaks esialgu mõeldagi.

Küsimus, järsku kellelgi seismas mingi Northstari mootor, kust saaks vajadusel kütusesüsteemi juppe?

küsi tikutaku foorumist kasutaja Stepside (Madis) käest kuidas selle mikist toodud Caddyga on - ehk aeti sulle umbluud. Tema seal töötab ja ongi vist nende asjade peal...
Mustangitel tehti küll recallid ära ilma mingi kobisemiseta, Dodgedel ka.
Ma arvan, et see jutt Vikingis ei pea paika - suva ju kust auto ostetud - tegu on tehase poolt kinni makstava tööga.
Tegu on OHTLIKU VEAGA ja vaevalt autotootja hakkab liigitama autosid selle järgi, kus ta müüdud.
Kui abi ei saa siiski, siis anna teada, ehk peaks keerutama mingi case kokku USA kaudu. Sellistele trikkidele ei vaadata seal kuigi hästi.

hetkel asi kahjuks seisab :( ei ole 100% kindel, et viga just selles, kuid kindel see, et kui mul on õigus see fuel rail tasuta välja vahetada, siis enne jonni ei jäta, kui saan selle tasuta :mrgreen:
saatsin cadillac ownersisse järelpärimise, et kas mul on õigus see tasuta saada välja vahetutud, kui vastuse saan, siis kemplen Vikingiga edasi.
auto diagnostika pakub hetkel viga "Loss of KAM (Keep Alive Memory)" - on keegi enne selle veaga kokku puutunud? hinge teeb täis juba, auto seisab juba 2 nädalat, kuigi oleks perre pidevalt 2 sõitvat autot vaja, hakka või kolmandat soetama, sest caddyst ei loobu, see kindel 8)

Sinu veakood võib küll tekitada kehva käimist/käivitust.
Ilmselt jamab mingi pistik ajju või halvemal juhul on tegu katkestusega - koodil peaks ütlema ka kas open - katkestus või short - lühis.

Vehicle computers develop amnesia if the constant battery power (B+) to the PCM is interrupted long enough to erases Keep Alive Memory.

Batteries go dead for a number of reasons, including battery damage, internal failure, or a faulty charging system. Charging system failures will be discussed later in this manual. But we need to discuss something here called Key-Off Battery Drain since it can cause a no-start in a vehicle that has a good battery and properly functioning charging system.

In a modern, computer-controlled vehicle, the SLI battery works seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Keep Alive Memory (KAM) in vehicle computers must be powered constantly, even when the vehicle is turned off and parked. Otherwise, the vehicle computer loses all data stored in memory and must either re-learn new data, or be reprogrammed. (Maybe we should change the car battery designation from SLI to SLIM for Starting, Lighting, Ignition and Memory!)

What does KAM do? Keep Alive Memory stores data for things like clock time, radio presets, power seat position preferences, and learned adaptive powertrain operating strategies.

If KAM is erased, the vehicle may run poorly when restarted until the PCM can “relearn” the vehicle characteristics. In some instances, the vehicle or individual components may require PCM reprogramming.

The total current required by KAM is the amount of electrical current need to power all vehicle controllers when the ignition is turned OFF. That’s whey we call it Key-Off Battery Drain. While the electrical current consumed by various control modules is fairly small compared to the starter motor or headlight current, the total load from KAM can cause a substantial drain on the battery, especially in vehicles equipped with several controllers. This may kill marginal batteries in vehicles that are parked for long periods of time.

The vehicle manufacturer may or may not publish and acceptable standard for maximum key-off battery drain: expect the exact key-off drain to vary by make, model, year and optional equipment.

We cannot give you a generally acceptable range for key-off battery drain. The range is too large and varies greatly, depending on the vehicle make, model, year and accessories. One OEM may recommend a maximum key-off battery drain of 30 mA, while another may allow a maximum acceptable drain that is two or even three times greater. You must check the recommended battery drain specification for the vehicle and follow any manufacturer recommended test procedure to ensure test accuracy.

imelik ainult see, et Vikingins kontrolliti ka VIN koodi ning üeldi, et fuel rail tuleks ikka ära vahetada, et ohtlik viga, aga me ei tee seda tasuta...
kas Viking siis ei näinud VIN-i järgi, et see Recall minu auto kohta ei kehti?! :?

siin on 2 võimalust - kas Viking haistis rahateenimise võimalust või siis see pan Zwyzlowsky GM ida divisjonist ei viitsinud asjaga tegemist teha.

Juhul, kui on nailonvoolikud küljes...
